How Diamondtome Facial Wands Improve Skin

With natural diamond chips embedded in the tip, this wand glides over the skin of any part of the body to clear away dirt, debris, and dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and clearer complexion. When applied to a client’s skin, the DiamondTome wand gradually eliminates the outer dermal layer of damaged and dead skin. After several sessions, that top layer is completely removed and imperfections such as fine lines, shallow acne scars, and age spots are improved.

Why go crystal free?

Traditional microdermabrasion treatments use tiny crystals to remove the outer layer of skin. While these treatments work, the crystals are highly abrasive and create inflammation and heat on the skin. If a client already suffers from inflammation due to, say, rosacea or acne, crystal microdermabrasion could actually make their condition worse. The crystal-based method also requires downtime, which isn’t ideal for those with full lives.

Altair microdermabrasion treatments use diamonds to abrade the skin instead. Diamonds are superior to the crystal-based method in a number of ways:

  • Enhanced results. Microdermabrasion with diamonds is gentle yet still effectively polishes the skin and clears away dead cells.
  • Customizable. The coarseness of the diamonds can be adjusted to offer a gentle or more aggressive treatment, depending on client skin sensitivity and skin condition.
  • Gentle approach. Unlike microdermabrasion with crystals, the diamond-tipped wand doesn’t cause heat or inflammation on the skin.
  • No downtime. There’s no downtime required with DiamondTome microdermabrasion, with most only reporting minor redness shortly after their session.

A tailored solution for every patient

DiamondTome wands can be completely customized based on the specific signs of skin damage a client wishes to address. There are four different diamond grits to choose from:

Fine & Medium

The fine and medium grits are ideal for patients who generally have healthy skin and minimal damage, but want to transform their complexion from lackluster to luminous.

Coarse & Extra Coarse

These grits are ideal for aggressive resurfacing treatments. Coarse & Extra Coarse tend to be favored by patients who have texture problems, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne or surgical scars.

Full Body Exfoliation

DiamondTome wands come in a variety of configurations and can be used practically all over the body. The flat and round wands are ideal for treating areas that require precision, such as the face, neck, and hands. The contoured wands are specifically designed to treat delicate features and larger surface areas, like the chest and back.

Clients Love Faster Treatment & Results

Treatment with our diamond-tipped face wands is a ‘lunch hour’ procedure. They take about 25 to 45 minutes, and clients can return to work and normal activities right away. Clients may appear slightly flushed and red in the treatment area right after, though these effects should disappear within half an hour. Clients should wear sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure for several days to protect their skin, which will be more sensitive following a session.

Many patients see a visible improvement after their first DiamondTome treatment. However, for longer-lasting and more significant changes, they will require six to eight sessions spaced a couple of weeks apart, and then maintenance visits every couple of months moving forward.

Practitioners Take Note

Surface skin imperfections like sun damage, fine lines, and age spots are easily addressed by DiamondTome wands. However, the use of our diamond tip wands is not recommended for individuals with:

  • Active acne
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Skin cancer
  • Eczema or dermatitis
  • Recent retinoid or Accutane use
